Carlsberg Byen for Wulff & Konstali
For Wulff & Konstali, we created a restaurant and café in Copenhagen’s Carlsberg Byen, a neighbourhood shaped by red-brick industrial architecture. Rather than echoing the brick inside, we introduced its counterpart: green. Deep, yellowish greens, mature mustard tones and bold accents of red contrast with the architecture outside, yet stay closely connected to it.
Our interior concept, The Soft Spot, is inspired by the intimacy of a hotel lobby and the warmth of a favourite neighbourhood restaurant. The space is built around the idea of finding your own soft spot, even within a lively crowd. At the centre, the bar takes the main stage, defined by glazed tiles and framed by a heavy ceiling-hung curtain. Lighter curtains soften the windows and create a darker, glowy atmosphere. The Soft Spot is an interior of contrasts: red and green, hard and soft, intimate and theatrical. A place to pause, gather and linger.
